Call alarm home security system review

The call security system has everything you need right in the box. The packaging is smooth and it is easy to find all the sensors, instructions and cables you need. Call giver directions from the app and printed materials at checkout – just follow along.

The installation starts with your base hub or “brain” connecting the system.

You want that have your Wi-Fi password handy because there is no “cancel” option if you enter it incorrectly and this may allow time for the process.

Once your base station is connected, the rest of the setup is simple. You need one four-digit entry code to the keyboard and a place to place your sensors, but these devices only take moments to install.

If you are to get a ring system used or give your away, you must restore the factory settings. This process takes a while because you have to reset each device manually. Schedule a few minutes for each.

When we tested Ring’s system, we found it the base station was easy to set up, but we had some keyboard problems.

Switching on or off was confusing and it was hard to know if we had successfully changed the status of the system until the alarm sounded (the neighbors loved it).

Finally, we used the Ring app instead of the keyboard and it went much smoother. So while a keyboard is useful when you have a variety of groceries, the app is much easier to understand.

During the test, we encountered problems with the contact sensor. If your doors and window frames are molded, you may also have problems. The door frame was too high for the sensors to match, so the system showed the door was open.

Fortunately, we found help through Ring’s guide to various doors and windows.

In addition to traditional home security, Ring has a range of advanced indoor and outdoor cameras, environmental sensors and more. We only tested the starter kit, but this other accessory is easy to add to your home system and play well with others.
