That KitchenAid 2-speed hand blender is one of the four KitchenAid mixers for home immersion. It is currently the most rated and most affordable from their catalog.
This dual-speed stick mixer has been around for a while, but its trend is not dead. Being budget friendly is undoubtedly one of its excellent qualities. However, it is only one factor among several.
In this review, we will talk about the rest of the story and determine if it is really worth it.
Before we begin, KitchenAid has newer models with more exciting features, such as the wireless hand blender.
- It can damage your pot as it has no pot right
- No extra accessories included
- Tougher ingredients take longer to mix
- It may not be suitable for masonry pots
KitchenAid 2-step stick blender features
Here is the kicker:
Even with just two speed levels, it can do pretty much anything expensive – from simple butter, baby food, sauces and dips, smoothies, frappes, whipped cream, frosting and most importantly, puree the ingredients for your soup recipe.
Without a more robust engine, however, it takes a little patience to reach the desired consistency. Nevertheless, most recipes only take approx. one minute to mix.
KitchenAid two-stage stick blender also includes a 3-cup mixing jar with ounces and cup markers. You can use this if your recipe is too small and the knives can barely reach the mixture. To put it another way, this is an excellent accessory for simple recipes you make.
As a bonus:
KitchenAid KHB1231 offers several colors to suit the aesthetics of your kitchen.
Ease of use
Stick blenders are pretty straightforward, but not all are comfortable to use.
Fortunately, the KitchenAid 2-speed Immersion Blender is on the good side. It has an ergonomic design with a soft grip. In short, it is convenient to operate individually.
In addition, the Kitchenaid KHB1231 has an on / off button with a push. As a safety feature, it does not stay on unless you hold it down.
However, the speed dial is located far from the main button. You will need your other hand to switch between speed levels. With newer models, these switches were installed on opposite sides, making it much easier to use.
On another story:
All immersion mixers are easy to clean, but having a removable mixer shaft is on a new level. You can just disconnect it from the engine base, rinse it quickly and let your dishwasher do all the cleaning.
In addition, the blade head is attached to the shaft, so assembly and disassembly is a breeze. It’s just a total of two parts to deal with.
This KitchenAid hand blender has thermal protection. It stops automatically to prevent overheating. If this happens to you, unplug it and let it cool for 10 minutes.
