That Ninja Blender 1200, also known as Ninja Blender DUO with Auto-IQ, is an excellent deal for anyone looking for a personal mixer and a large capacity kitchen mixer.
Duo stands for “dual-purpose”, which means you have cups with a serving and a jar of 72 ounces when you buy this product.
It is one of the high-performance blenders from the brand, but it is quite old. About it was released back in 2014. It is still a good option today, but the brand has a newer series of blenders.
These are their latest offerings: Ninja Foodi Hot and Cold Blender, Ninja Kitchen System, Ninja Professional Blender, and Ninja Foodi Power Nutri Duo.

Ninja Blender 1200 Features
With its powerful 2HP or 1200-watt motor paired with Total Crushing Blades, Ninja Blender Duo with Auto-IQ can perform many tasks apart from making shakes and smoothies.
Here are a few things to try:
The brand advertises their total crushing leaves as an “ice crusher.” Well, Ninja Blender 1200 did not disappoint. It can turn ice cubes into snow in less than a minute, making it perfect for making sorbet from frozen fruits.
However, there are a few things that it can not do, like making hot soups and processing dry ingredients.
If you need something that can make hot soups – check out Ninja Foodi Blender – it can treat hot or cold things.
Or if you fancy a powerful blender that also works as a grain factory, this is something that only a Vitamix blender can offer.
Pro type: Use the Nutri Ninja cups (along with pro suction blades) to achieve a finer blend.
Ease of use
So how does the Ninja Blender 1200 perform in terms of usability?
Let’s first watch the video on how to assemble the jug and blade on the engine base.
It’s a bit complicated compared to other blenders with a standard blade unit, but after a few tries, you’ll definitely get used to it. By the way, you do not have this problem when using the Nutri Ninja cups.
To answer the question directly I would say it is somewhere in the middle. It’s not that hard, but it’s not that easy.
You should also keep in mind that the blade unit of the Ninja Duo is not attached. Remove the total crushing knives before pouring your smoothie, otherwise, you can also use the spout instead of removing the lid.
Fortunately, you will not have a hard time cleaning this machine, as all the removable parts are dishwasher safe.
Now let’s talk about Auto-IQ technology.
To put it simply, it’s just a pre-programmed setting for the most common things you do with your blender and Ninja Blender 1200 – frozen drinks and smoothies, purees, blends, and ultra blends.
These are the four buttons you can see in the control panel of the Ninja BL642. The first two buttons are intended for the large jug, while the second half only works when the Nutri Ninja cup is on.
The best thing about these set-and-forget programs is that you can do other things in the kitchen while you wait for the bike to finish.
If you prefer, the Ninja Blender 1200 also comes with manual buttons. There are three-speed levels to choose from and a smooth pulse button.
The travel cups are actually the highlight of the Ninja Blender Duo. Using the large jug and cleaning will be too much trouble for a busy day. When using the travel cups, you do not need to clean them right away.
In addition, you can bring the cup immediately after mixing. It is also spill-proof so you can get the daily smoothie whenever and wherever you need it.

Note that this video presents the 1300-watt version (BL640) of the Ninja Blender Duo family. The only difference between the two is wattage, all other features are the same.

If you love being in the kitchen, AND you are a smoothie person? So I highly recommend Ninja Blender Duo 1200 watts. It is an affordable option to cultivate your list of nutritious recipes.
However, it is a fairly old product. You might want to give the Ninja Kitchen System a quick spin for a more up-to-date alternative. It also comes with cups with a serving plus a food processor attachment.
Note: For some reason, the product image of the Amazon 1500-watt model shows, but the product description says otherwise.
